    Firehawk08,

The fact is that all progress in world economies has been on the basis of borrowing now and pay off over time. That is the capitalist free market way. Look at number one capitalist free marketeer Gerry Harvey his business is dependent on buy now and pay nothing for up to two years.

The stimulus money will circulate the economy in whatever form, whether it is spent, saved for a rainy day, pays off debt. Even if used for debt payment that money can be used to relent or reused by the bank or business concerned. It is fallacious when some claim the money is a waste of time. I note you have not done that. How the money was to be distributed was bound to elicit differing views and that is fair enough but to claim it is a waste of time is probably just a cynical political statement that will only resonate with the hardliners that will oppose anything a labor government does. They are basically only convincing themselves as I can assure them that the vast majority of the 8million or so recipients of the $900 will happily take back some of their past taxes and contribute to saving the economy at this time.

    Cheers
