I have seen some companies expanding too quickly and aggressively with cashflow and margin issues kick in and only result in bankruptcy or being taken over eventually.

The company I worked for had 4 years 150% yoy growth from 2013-2017 (non ASX listed). It was to one point that we were worried that we had so many customers.... Unfortunately, the management changed and it shits from there. They only care about profit margin and squeezed the operational costs to the very bare minimum so all operational units were overworked to the point that OT to 11pm became very normal. Soon after, experienced staff were all left as operational issues were not solved. All the top management at the time only focus on the margin/profit/EBITDA. Well, of course they didnt prioritise compliance either. The company started going downhill from 2018 as business partners started not renewing the contracts due to operaional concerns and risks of compliance issues. I had absolutely a roller coaster career in my previous 7 years of work life witnessing a company grow and die like this (I am a CPA and my job was to do with data analysis and management consulting for various of boards.)

Hence, I rather want a management team to focus on company culture, kicking the growth target but step by step, focus on margin but dont do everything because of the margin.

Then, this company can have a long way to go.

Currently, I see Zip as a company which fits my criteria above. However, I dont fall in love with a stock either. When they show the signs of struggling in the operational side, I will definitely dump all of the shares.
