Cringe - I'm Not Sure How I Finished Watching This, page-20

I've worked in this industry for the last 20 years and as I watched that I thought it would have to be around 2014 vintage, and I was right! I've seen the corporate culture of the industry change a lot, and there was a definite "cringe" period of HR happy-clapping for a few years either side of 2014, where this sort of thing wasn't unusual - though this is by far the worst example of it I've seen. Before then, "team building" meant "drinking" but as times changed this is the sort of thing that replaced it on team building days. A right shame, I say - graduates coming into these companies today will never experience throwing up in the gutter at 2am while your team manager laughs hysterically at you.

Thankfully the butcher's paper kumbaya was a fairly short-lived phase and I haven't seen it for the last few years. Corporate organisational culture seems to have moved on again and is much more pragmatic in the age of flexible work and Zoom meetings.
