Treechangers and dropouts have if fact changed the political and fauna structures of semi-rural retreats <1hr30 drive from the big smoke. Their pseudo "greenie" love of the bush without coming from the farming or logging communities lacked the experience and knowledge that would have furnished adequate fire breaks, paddock blocks and water.

On the other hand, we have firebugs that call themselves fire wardens that abuse aboriginal history claiming burn-offs were a matter of routine and scorch thousand of acres around us every year. Fact is fires were used as one hunting tool, and only burnt as much as needed to provide enough food for a few days - else everything was killed and rotten in days. I say unless you have a country background stick you bid out or go back to the city.

I can't believe that a sea container and a day droting dirt to cover it or putting it into a side of a hill for a cost of less than $1000 can provide all the bunker protection needed - yet of the 1000 plus homes gone there were less than a handful of bunkers in place.

Yep all I need to hear a bunch city tozzers telling me what I need to do - my family is "green" or else our farm would have gone to salt long ago, likewise I don't need some other set of tozzers telling me its necessary to raise the countryside every year. Thanks for you input here I'll file it with all that other important opinion that comes out of Melbourne or Sidiney schlickers.
