Scottport, you, probably like myself have watched VPG for a long time and know the volume patterns. For the uninitiated, in the past couple of months, there would typically be a couple of million traded in the first 30 minutes, and then the bots would kick in.
My take: The bots are clearly the mechanism of larger scale investors, probably instos. No Mum or Dad investor could afford to make trades of $0.33, paying a 29 dollar commission.
So it would appear that the larger positions have now been established. Some have exited and others have snapped up their scrip. Unless there is a leak of some kind, I would expect nothing much at all until next Wednesday. If there is a sudden move, I hope like hell that the ASX tweaks to some funny business going on.
I believe that the sp has been manipulated down, not up, and that those in the know will be delighted to be hiding in the mattresses until the half-yearly is disclosed. They've already done their work imho. Other views?
