Hi there Diligent
I see that you are saying that it is up to others to prove their "crazy anti-Western generalities".
The onus of proof is on the first one making the claims. In the case of eg. the Iraq attack, the onus was on the US gov to prove that Iraq was making WMDs. Turns out it was a pack of lies anyhow. Anyone with half a brain knew it was a bad idea to start that war and that the initial claim was bogus, though initially they were shouted down.
Same goes for Sept 11th. The US govt made the claim on the basis of the "magic passport". The onus is on them to prove it not the debunkers. Actually Bush said they would provide the proof later but he forgot.
It all comes down to what ones basic beliefs are about the powerholders. Is the default setting that they are always (or mostly) honest and honourable or not. If you believe that they are then anyone who questions the contradictions is spouting"unfounded crazy anti-western generalities".
You throw the term "anti- western" around a lot but what do you really mean?
I am pro-western" but happen to think that the so-called leaders of the western world are as anti-western as you can get.Look at them, Britain and the US, bankrupt, at war, facing possible economic collapse, spying on their own citizens, throwing out such ancient rules such as habeas corpus, the right to free speech, freedom from torture, etc.
It is incorrect to say that those of us who point out the corruption at the heart of this crisis are "anti-western" just because we might show insufficient respect to the criminal scumbags, murderers, war profiteers and assorted riff-raff.
cheers ron
