Good post Mastermind.
People will try to cover some small losses by a much bigger winner; ie one win of 300% can cover a variety of losses. So, although the one pick made a lot of money, there may be say 4 others he lost 30% on each and he is still nicely ahead.
Is he/she a bad stock picker? I don't think so as long he keeps bringing in a biggie now and then which everyone hopes to do.
Also, many picked speculation stocks are dropped at a moment's notice. Assume a stock is recommended at $1, rises 50 cents and then drops $1. However, in the meantime, the picker may have made 40 cents by selling at $1.40.
Yet when the same stock is checked later on, it has lost 50 cents so was that pick was a bad one. Don't think so. Traders will need to get out at the right time.
And there are other examples. Speculative stocks are just that.
Also, there may well be massive investments in the socalled "safer stocks" while these are much smaller in speculative stocks.
