REX have been around for a long time and are very successful at what they do from a financial standpoint, your T-rex joke may sound crafty but it has nothing to do with business fundamentals .
VA is an empty shell of what it was and your much loved Qantas is trying to sell its airline alcohol beverage carts from its unused aircraft which is quiet embarrassing IMO. Qantas share price is the same now as what it was 10 years ago, you would have had many better investment opportunities in that time other than Qantas which is government supported, it is unofficially our national carrier brandashing the red kangaroo. QA has plenty of cash but there balance sheet is average at best.
If there was ever a good time to expand for REX it is now. You did say you're retired so how can you say you never saw the REX airport service area because that was 20 years ago, things change with time, if it wasn't there 100 years ago what makes you think it isn't there now? It is hard to see from your lounge room.
