There are companies already out there that have lodged Patent applications for TPGS (same as TPM*) and CBD

From the ANTARES site -Vitamin E TPGS (*same as TPM), a derivative of naturally sourced alpha-tocopherol is becoming the formulation ingredient of choice for cannabis products, especially purified or concentrated CBD and THC and other extracts.

TPGS has:
• A proven record of safety (1,5) based on decades of commercial use in pharmaceuticals and dietary supplements, including vitamin formulations for children.

• Efficacy based on conclusive clinical evidence (6), not only as a solubilizer for water soluble formulations, but also in its ability to form micelle like particles that enhance absorption and bioavailability. Its efficacy is illustrated by its use in clinically-tested (7), FDA approved products formulated for enhanced absorption.

• Neutral taste and odor and light yellow color are particularly important for oral and personal care product formulations.

• Support of product stability. Vitamin E TPGS contains some free tocopherols that have strong antioxidant activity and support product stability especially for oil-based products. In addition to reducing potency, products of oxidation affect taste, odor, and can be harmful.

Further please note that given the statements from the AVE CEO, this technology needs to go through Phase 1,2,3 trials, so to put that into perspective less than 5% of drugs put up for FDA Approval actually get through after a couple of hundred million dollars (which AVE dont have ) and about 7 years in a timeline

Forget CBD and TPM its fairy dust IMHO

* Same as TPM in this particular use

Interesting. Not having a go here, just curious if you go to the Avecho Webiner Paul gets asked the exact question re TPGS and TPM. His answer is fairly detailed.

TPGS is not usable for injectables due to detergent molecule
TPGS is not patent protect-able
TPM has 80% vitamin E as opposed to 20%
TPGS is more water soluble than TPM and it is used more in aqueous soluble.

Thoughts?
