I asked the question about prawn pricing. He pretty much dodged it with a generic response covering both salmon and prawns at 60% going thru retail.
My issue is that prawns are pretty volatile. My Woolies has them for $25/kg which is very cheap, and I think are Aussie sourced. And yet I've seen green prawns at Box Hill market for $45/kg. IT's all over the place.
Assume the supermarket deal will be fixed for a period, the price is going to be crucial, obviously, for margins but it gets Tropico product on the shelves, branded, and consistently in front of consumers.
It looks like the salmon strategy all over again, which is good. The supermarkets want consistent supply and they'll lock in price and volume to achieve that. TGR can build their strategy knowing a chunk of revenue is locked in.
