It's called fiduciary duty! I think your wisdom and experience is letting you down in the interpretation department if you take all company statements as verbatim and the outright truth.

I've been reading the latest paid-article about WKT essentially written by AM. I reckon they could a copy and paste of any article published last year or even the year before... coz all that's didn't is the stated year... construction is to commence at the end of 2019.... 2020.... now it's 2021. That's reality and fiduciary duty in a nutshell! BSM did the same with their promise of being "cash flow positive".... year in year out,
