Its an ambiguous announcement, but I read it as ARV are still doing the geophysics and interp plus some ground geochemistry at their Patterson tenements, they have approval from the WA regulators to drill, but do not have a drill rig yet. As I indicated in a previous post - ARV are awaiting a DDH1 drill rig to be released from Haverion, no other contractor is insane enough to start to mobilize a rig out there at this time of the year, and ARV have to simply wait for one of the rigs to become available from Haverion, and Newcrest aren't stupid enough to release a drill rig until the weather really starts to get ominous, as Newcrest would want to get as much of their own drilling done before the weather goes to poo (with the caveat that they may not want to have a contractors rig stranded there for the wet season).

This all seems to be leading up to the completely inevitable and entirely predictable "sorry folks but no drilling at Patterson this year" announcement. If they are lucky, and Newcrest is extremely kind, they might have enough time to drill a few holes before it starts raining and things become impossible to move around but certainly not all the metres that ARV have planned.
