    even when it is grossly abhorrent...so what do you think needs to change in horse racing so you only think it is mildly abhorrent? sounds like a ban all racing position to me.

    i own race horses. i have on my property ex-race horses including mine. my daughter trains them up in dressage, show jumping and cross country. they also used for hacking and show. my main concern was appropriate looking after the race horses after their career had ended. we have seen big improvements in that area and it will continue to improve. i would also consider increased watering of tracks so dont get rock hard surfaces.

    there are around 100,000 who own horses, then you have your syndicates. Racing industry directly employs near 200,000 people and probably another 300-400,000 jobs that have a reasonable percentage of their work involved in horse racing.
