I don't deny the quarantine hotel situation was a complete phuqup.... it was a disaster and I agree that Andrews should resign for misleading the people, State parliament, the inquiry and the nation that he didn't know who gave the decision to have security guards (mis)manage the quarantine. Even if someone else made such decision, Andrews should have over-ridden that and ensured a disciplined professional management with medical and social staff available.
I also agree that the contact/tracing management was woefully inadequate and wasn't adapted to provide added staff, technology and ability to manage the outbreak.
Yet I don't resile from the reservoir of infection that was rife in the community before the quarantine debacle. Go back through the reports and announcements during the period when Morrison was telling all states to reduce restrictions....
