garrett's voting record??? Just one more point to add to the confusion that is Peter Garrett and the ALP.

Here, in Victoria, voting in Local Government elections is compulsory and is based on your electoral enrolment details.

In New South Wales, if today's Sydney Morning Herald (@p7) is to be believed - voting in Local Government elections is compulsory.

According to the SMH, the NSW State Electoral Office has sent out 375,000 infringement notices so far this week. Those notices related to people who had failed to vote at the March Local Government elections.

Now, I presume that Peter Garrett hails from NSW way.

Does this mean that, not only has he failed to vote for 10 or so years in Federal elections, but that he has also:
    1)
failed to vote at recent NSW State elections; and
    2)
failed to vote in recent NSW Local Government elections.

I think that PG owes the community a more definitive explanation than what he has already provided.

Are his details to be found on the Electoral Roll?

If so, has he voted, or not?

And this should be answered at a Federal, State and Local level.

Reality has it that if he has failed to vote at all 3 levels, he could well be in breach of the electoral laws, resulting in penalties, potential prosecution, and /or worse.

It is by no means clear, at this point in time that PG will be a successful candidate for the ALP - not if he is shown to have failed to vote in any (not just, some) elections over the last 10 years.

Alas, too little homework. Too much confusion. Way too much opportunity. And, too much exposure.

PG is fast approaching the ability of CK and he has not even defected, yet.
