    Oly,

    Regarding your comment:

"But lets see what the regulators and FED politicos come up with cos they certainly have been alerted. NT politicos look way outa their depth here ... they didnt even realise their previous PET pride and joy was under ALIEN attack when I asked the Qs ... Come on bros, show us we aint being run by manchurian candidates !"

I would have to agree as I sent an email to the office of Kon Vatskalis,Member for Casuarina/NT,Minister for Primary Industry, Fisheries and Resources on 6 February 2009.
See HC Thread: “the national issue”

You know the same minister that welcomed Compass Resources to Darwin on 28 August 2006 saying:
    -----------------------------------------------------------
"Compass Resources is a major player in the mining and exploration sector and they have committed to significant ongoing projects that stand to benefit all Territorians. With the Brown’s Oxide project steaming ahead, I am thrilled to welcome Compass Resources to Darwin".
    -----------------------------------------------------------

And then on 29 October 2008 - Saying
    -----------------------------------------------------------First Copper Rolls Into Darwin:
The first production of copper produced at the newly commissioned Compass Resources mine near Batchelor was trucked into Darwin today. The Minister for Resources, Kon Vatskalis, was on hand at East Arm Port as the first 69 tonnes of copper produced at the mine was unloaded this morning.

"Mining and exploration are key drivers behind the Northern Territory's economic growth," said Mr Vatskalis.

"Compass Resources Browns Oxide Project currently employs around 100 people 30% of whom are Indigenous and will see copper, cobalt and nickel produced from the open pit mine.

Well I didn’t receive any response to my original email on 6 February 2009 (although I did get a read receipt.) And so I emailed again on 27 February 09, (3 weeks later) asking for a response to my original email.

And I got one this time from an assistant that said:
    -----------------------------------------------------------
    Dear Mr xxxxxx,

On behalf of the Hon Kon Vatskalis MLA, Minister for Primary Industry, Fisheries and Resources, I acknowledge and thank you for your emails dated 6/02/09 and 27 February, regarding Compass Resources Limited.

Your correspondence will be brought to the attention of the Minister at the earliest opportunity.

    Yours sincerely,

    Txxx Axxxxxxx
    Ministerial Assistant
Office of the Hon. Kon Vatskalis

    --------------------------------------------------------
So that kind of says it all: “Your correspondence will be brought to the attention of the Minister at the earliest opportunity”.

It’s three weeks later and 1 month after Compass Resourses went into VA and Kon Vatskalis,Member for Casuarina/NT, Minister for Primary Industry, Fisheries and Resources hasn’t even read my email or acknowledged to some degree that he has taken onboard my concerns, and that of thousands of other shareholders, workers and everyday Australians, and what he might be doing about it.

It’s happening now Kon... If we wait until your “earliest opportunity" it will be all over, and we will be the poorer for it... But maybe that’s the intention.... Wait and hope it just blows over...

Just pretend their loading another 250 tonnes of copper at East Arm Port and see if that raises the importance of this issue beyond your “earliest opportunity".

In the meantime we the shareholders, workers and everyday Australians will fight for this on your behalf.

Just don’t bother showing up at the relaunch if we (the shareholders, workers and everyday Australians) win the fight on our own and manage to get this “Major Project of National Significance” back up and running...
