I agree with you, it's expectations. The polar points are fear and greed.
I am surprised though, that you think the yield curve caused the price change yesterday. I would guess that most sellers and buyers of ARB shares do not know exactly what a yield curve is and how the maturities are constructed.In my experience, stock investors get bored if I want to talk about an inverse yield, or a steepening and what it would mean. Most (unless you are a fund manager of some size, or including the requirement of holding government bonds), just think this yield curve "thing" is academic.
To me, yesterday's price change has the smell of sector rotation and profit taking ... as some like to put it: more money to be made elsewhere (if that was only true, Haha). There could also be some advisors that generate some turnover, saying to their clients to sell what has run (making a profit does not kill anyone) and to buy what will run post vaccine.
