Funny you should say that butcherboy about the half million dollar homes.
I bought a house for $11,400 back in 65 and I told a woman real estate investor that I had worked out it would be worth $20,000 in five years.
She snorted contemptuously "it will NEVER be worth $20,000" (her actual words). I sold it for a million dollars some years later. She died worth many millions. If I had told her that it was going to a million dollars she would have written me of as a loony.
So you see it went 50 times higher than I had predicted - eventually.
Now let's see, what's the price of gold today? $936 x 50 = $46,800.
"It will NEVER go to $10,000, let alone $46,800."
If the Bank of England and other central banks start printing money as they are saying they will, inflation can get out of hand.
Certainly gold CAN go to $10,000. It's more a question of when.
