Australia is a totally different situation and imo uncomparable to the rest of the world (except NZ)
A few bullet points:
Land isolated from the rest of the world, seperated by seas and oceans. NZ even further out so even less affected. No countries bordering it.
A very spread out population over the land.
Small population overall
Urban areas not densely populated (compared to for eg New York or Rome, etc)
A hot country
Very small amount of initial infections in comparison to the USA and Europe (easier to control outbreaks)
In comparison to Europe: Australian young people move out of home once they finish school.
Not so in Europe for example where they live with their parents and/or grandparents for a lot longer.
