Also: I have to note - I've lived in both Sydney and Melbourne for a few years - and to be honest - Perth was a lot more welcoming (once I joined a few clubs) than either of them. Fine work wise, lovely to party in - but... not great to actually LIVE in. Expensive as all get out, too. A friend of mine who had lived in London, Tokyo, New York and Lima while she was growing up noted to me at one point "Sydney is the loneliest city of earth" - and her twin sister was living there with her!
