We really shouldn't have a problem with having an open, honest discussion about these things.
A director sold a considerable amount of shares. This is the reality.
Was this a case of them dumping all/most of their holdings? No.
Does it change the fundamentals of the company? No.
Will the market like it? No.
Will it spook the market, even if that's irrational? Yes.
Will it cause a temporary drop in share price? Probably.
Is anyone who understands that the market is irrational and will probably respond negatively, themselves irrational? No.
Is anyone who expects the market to behave rationally, themselves rational? No.
Yesterday we tried and failed to break the 38c resistance. A triangle pattern formed, it looked bullish, it failed. A director selling announcement will probably bring lower prices in the short term. It might be brief. If you're a long term holder it doesn't really matter. If you're a trader it may be scary or exciting depending on where you happen to be sitting.
Expressing a negative view is just as valid as expressing a bullish view. I often don't bother posting a lot of what I could, because I know that expressing anything negative inevitably brings a huge wave of anger, and when I turn out to be correct it brings another wave of anger. We should calmly and rationally examine what people say rather than berating or praising it purely based on what we want to be true rather than what probably is correct.
Long term my outlook hasn't changed. Short term, I sold a handful at open and will look to buy them back cheaper.
