"In WA are there so few quality geologists etc that companies like ESR and POS share these experts?"

"No" is blunt the answer to your short-sighted and rather loaded question.

Small companies use external consultants extensively. They appear on the Management Team pages of their clients so investors (of those clients) know who the key personnel are who are helping with... you know... management.
NH has extensive experience with and knowledge of POS' portfolio (think geological structures associated with our projects) so it makes sense to have retained his external services in a consulting capacity, after he left POS and stopped being a staffer.
It's a reasonably small community - especially when talking about two companies that geographically located within a bee's whisker of each other, in geological terms, who are both chasing the same natural resource (Ni). From my perspective, it's perfectly natural that ESR would seek him out, for the local experience and expertise he can bring to bear. Remember, he's a geologist. Ground conditions matter. Yes, there are plenty of other geos who could also do a decent job, but I would have thought that local experience/knowledge matters.

Wrt to the possibility of a POS takeover of ESR: great question. If, that's *if* they end up with a commercially viable resource, then there might very well be a natural proximity synergy. However, I think it's prolly still too early for that just yet. ESR needs to prove-up or at least define what they have first, imo.

There's also the small (or not?) matter of Daws (ESR CEO and now MD) being the lad that offloaded Niagara to AF and friends at the top of the last secular Ni bull market (mid-2007), immediately prior to the re-branding to Poseidon. Just how AF, as one seat on the Board, would feel about dealing with ESR remains to be seen. I imagine it might depend on whether AF and crew tapped Niagara/Daws to make the deal back in the day or whether Daws approached AF with the deal. Just a thought.
