Looked for tickets to Europe last year and walked into Harvey World and asked them for their best price for two tickets. Came out with a great price at $2200. Walked over the road to Flight Centre knowing that they like to beat prices and asked the manager there for his best price. He came back with $2800 per ticket exactly the same flights at exactly the same times. I laughed at him and told him he wasn't even close. He piped up with, "whatever price you've got we'll beat it, guaranteed". He came back with $2180 per ticket. I told him he could stick his offer where the sun don't shine. Talk about trying to gouge money out of the public. Well done to Harvey World for honesty in business. Screw Turner lives up to his name.
My self funded retiree grandparents on the other hand are extremely loyal to their local Flight Centre agent and constantly travel using her as booking agent.
I have never done well investing in companies that I am not happy to use their products or services myself.
