I mostly agree with you except for the artificial islands and, by the way, America cant really complain about these " islands' because
Uncle Sam is not a party to the UN "Law of the Sea" because it would stymie its ability to enforce its shipping sanctions on its target countries
via naval force on the high seas.
That said. However, if China is able to get away with these phoney islands and impose 250Ks of economic Zones around them, then
in the future there is unlikely to be much "High Seas" left.
If the phoney islands stand, then what is to stop us going offshore by more than 250ks and doing ditto on the outer reefs?
The UN should take charge here and ask the rest of the world to demolish these islands before the Chinese get squatters rights, IMO.
A few mini nuke explosions should do the job with the resultant tsunamis doing re-establishing the original status quo............ Its not rocket science...eh?
