I have heard that ASIC have now virtually closed the file due to the offer. The other thing is that if us opes clients knock back the offer the bank will try and turn it around on us. We will become those "greedy clients" who were offered as much as their portfolios would be worth now but are now trying to take advantage of the situation bought about by the fall in the market.
They will wheel out all the calls like if the market was up 50% they wouldn't be wanting 70 cents they would want a 170 cents. I would not be surprised if figures like the current value of Opes portfolios compared to the offer are leaked. We will be compared to storm clients who would love to have this type of offer and so on and so forth. Public opinion is a very fleeting thing.
We need to think about that as well as what is 70 cents less 40% for the funders worth in 5 years. By the way the answer is 42.
