I can agree with that logic but ACTIONS speak louder than WORDS.
Therefore the Gov't may say they are going to do this and that but make no mistake NONE of it will be done.
Their silence and and length of time taken to make a decision, to me, proves this too be the case.
As per the Vic desal plant, all looked good until the 2 lead vendors said they cannot raise money. All of a sudden the Vic Gov't is running around seriously looking at other options before Melbourne runs dry some-time in 2010-2011, and this is MANDATORY.
The NBN is optional and will be 5-10 times larger to finance.
So short term, yes maybe $2.90 and yes then it will be a great buy but as far as the NBN is concerned, DEAD!!!!
Whether the Gov't says so or not, reality will kick in at some stage as the economy gets worse and worse.
Prediction, unemployment 12-20% by mid late 2010.
