Yes, I suggest that that is the mechanism being employed at this point in time to cover out the short positions. Nett gain of maybe 6M cover. Depends on total vol for day - I use a finger-in-air rule of 15% cover on high vol days (>20M days). They then depress/reset price in afternoon to a level they are prepared to start paying tomorrow, and repeat. If you look at VWAP it is much lower than high of day - that's what they are working off. Might be a high price for some, but average is actually low.

At the moment I think we are sitting at around 98M (-T1 ie yesterday) shorts outstanding - give or take some.

Their dilemma is that to exit that 98M, by the end of 15 days, an average of 6-7M have to be covered each day which mean vol has to be sustained at 20M+ per day to achieve. I pick 15 days as that is when I think we will find out more acquisition details.

Total guess work however, and could be way off mark. Totally opinion only, my theory to the world only. Don't base any decisions on these thoughts.
