The way I look at it, if I own my place and don't plan on selling then I really don't care how much the house I live in is worth.

I only care when I want to sell and then if i am not forced to sell i won't sell.

To me the fact that the price has come down so much means that it was overvalued to begin with.

Kicking the can down the road and hoping we find a way out is not the solution. The pain needs to be taken now in order to prevent an even worse scenario down the road.

If you are sick do you wait and see if you get better or do you go to the doctor and take your medicine, even if it means short term pain?

You take your medicine because you know that if you don't you will probably get worse until no medicine can save you.
