Clearly most people prefer a democratic capitalist country that has a social safety net(the same reason why Scotty won the election with his robodebt policy, the majority don't like being taxed into oblivion to pay for others to do nothing).

(note that the ALP has people from the centre to the far left who vote for them, so plenty of that 40% are capitalists)
