I still have some of the banks but sold out about this time last year to me they are an average investment when you add in the SPP we paid for our dividends ,their business model is coming under pressure and they have sold off businesses so their bottom lines will take years to get back to where it was ,the banks over the years have made some very poor investments and the share holders have paid the price the NAB debacle's in the US and UK come to mind,I invested in the 4 plus Macquarie 10 years ago .Macquarie was by far the best performer and CBA have been ok the rest rubbish from an investment point of view.
