I don't know what wikipedia says but I think you will find that it took World War 2 to get the US out of the Depression. World War 2 brought abut the rapid expansion of American industrial production.
The economy was still stuffed in 1939. The stock market didn't get back to its pre 1929 highs until 20 years later!!!
