You know as well as I that the tax from fuel goes into a big, big coffer & pays for other matters

That revenue WILL be replaced, irrespective of the type of car you drive.

Why not scrap all fuel taxes immediately and implement user pays road use right now. Would that make a level playing field for all vehicles irrespective of energy delivery type?
