Funding is a major issue for many mines in Australia right now. I think the federal government should step in and provide low interest finance for companies producing 'critical' minerals like cobalt, lithium, nickel, manganese ore, niobium, tungsten, vanadium and rare earth minerals.
The hard rock lithium miners that have failed in recent years and been gobbled up by the Chinese probably wouldn't have failed if they had government debt with 2% interest instead of 12% or 14% interest with foreign lenders.
