That is bollocks except insofar as it has been nobbled by relentless rightwing flak. What involvement does the Labor Party have in the ABC? Examples, not the imaginings of rightwing commentary.

The nature of that kind of Charter leads to politicisation which is what you are asking for. By way of example, in Hitler's Germany that kind of balanced reporting would mean giving equal air time to the persecution of Jews, unionists, gypsies, homosexuals, the unemployed and disabled. Its obvious, stop ignoring the reality because it gives political power to your side of politics. The LNP should be able to prosecute good solid political arguments which survive journalistic scrutiny without recourse to strictly controlling the flow of public information. They can't. You should be concerned.
