- $1.3mill per machine (can only dream of the margin on these types of machines $$$). While first reactions will be that this is too expensive etc you only need to follow the news and public reactions around horse racing to see the enormous outcry (and absolutely fair) around the deaths in the industry. As Racing Victoria has done, the $1.3 million outlay would have been a no brainer. It is not a stretch at all to think that this could become mandated/compulsory.
- This Racing Vic machine is not the Longmile Tech. Surprisingly, there is actually a lot of positives in this. It is one of only three machines in the world, meaning there are a whole lot of big/world famous courses and training facilities that are going to still need this tech. There are references in the article and video to the fact that their machine is a large and fixed structure, which actually caused issues because quarantined horses couldn't attend. The Longmile Tech is a compact mobile device = game changer!!

Again, this is an industry that spares absolutely no cost. For reference, Anthony Van Dyck (the horse that unfortunately passed away) had a career earnings of $4.1 mill. There is no doubt whatsoever that owners will pay the money for the scan.

Now don't get me wrong, there is a long way to go when talking about making this a mandate and widespread etc. FTT doesn't even own the tech yet, but when they do they need to be out pumping this. This a world wide industry that has both supporters (owners, officials) and non-believers (activists demanding change) screaming out for this! There is a huge groundswell and clear demand for this tech and FTT can cash in on what would be big $$$.
