I really do not like UCG and will put my bit in with the DMP (Department of Mineral and Petroleum) to never allow it to happen in WA.
The rational for the dislike is the potential collapse of the overlying ground, escape of the combusted gases and the total disregard for future generations who might develop a better way of extracting the energy.
That aside can you really expect any civil servant in WA DMP willing to approve UCG within the next 10 years!!!
