I still think it looked like desperate short covering. I reckon the shorts were buying throughout the day, were running out of time to buy volume prior to close, decided to bid up in volume at 4.00pm so as at flush out big sellers and Deutsche Bank then sold in volume in the auction.
Why were the shorts so desperate to cover by close of business?
That's the big question.
