Hello Lautrec,
How do you know that an existing investor has offered the company finance? Did Peter directly tell you this?
If your claim isn't rumour and can be proven to be fact, why would they not take the finance? In my opinion, having finance would increase their chances of a higher sale price. The longer this drags on for, the closer we are getting to actually being a distressed seller.
I believe it would be foolish to wait until June to request finance - it needs to be sorted now. If they waited until June, what would happen if they can't get finance? Heard of OZ Minerals? This has potential to be a repeat if things do not go our way.
There is only 10 weeks until AU$50mil is due in full. Fortis are in trouble and will demand their cash back or liquidation of assets to get the cash. That is a serious matter. There is potential for a buyer to make a low ball offer. If this happens, what alternatives do we have?
Interested to hear your thoughts.
