Some investors are here for the long term and the MD works for the SHs

There is a lot one one can learn from asking questions about the 2-5 year plan of a Coy
Perhaps someone was trying to get a read on what is going on the MDs head
...and therefore the companies position

How are they thinking of future SH value?
Are they positioning for takeover/merger?
If they deliver on the plans at some point the company is going to have surplus revenue. So what will it do with the profit?

As @rajotel said if you can get sizeable dividends in the future it is better than any fixed interest investment and the SP will increase accordingly
