I am not sure that it is a matter of left or right, imho it is much more pervasive in the NZ psyche.

Regardless it is almost as though there's a wish for FPA to fail. Can you imagine how hard it is to invent, produce and sell not just globally saleable, but globally unique/interesting/desirable products in a field as competitive as home appliances? And to do it from NZ, without the local industry clusters?

Oh, but Kiwi's expect more miraculous than that, they want all the manufacturing done from woe to go in NZ at prices to compete with developing country labour rates - ie expect FPA to do it with both feet tied and hands tied behind their back. Talk about being kicked when you're down too, through bad luck of having your transition debt levels coincide with a once in a century financial storm.

Let's get back to milking the cows and serving coffee to tourists.
