Cheers Acees! One (rhetorical) question - if CNM carries out the construction of any potential commercial wave power stations, will they operate them as well? I guess they could have one division for the construction (or at least overseeing the construction) and one for maintenance and operation. Also, if this goes ahead in commercial proportions, will they not be an acquisition target for any of the large energy companies? I was just thinking the carbon credits alone might be attractive but then I realised that KRudd is more or less giving them away for free to begin with! I'rd rather they weren't taken over - I have no interest in being given Origin (or whomever) shares in exchange for CNM shares, unless at an extreme premium. Anyway, I'm getting ahead of things here. We need a demonstration plant first.
The more I think about it the more I am impressed with this technology. The fact that it can be scaled so easily. The only other equivalent I can think of is solar. Even with geothermal you need to drill very, very expensive holes in the ground to upscale your power plant. With CETO you can simply deploy more units, then presumably plumb them in and increase your turbine capacity. Also, managing the generation capacity will be a cinch - you can simply take units off-line when the demand is low and then bring them back on line when demand is high. I know this is a pain in the rear for coal-fired power stations. Just MHO, I have zero expertise in this area.
