Gee I'm just referring to how PNG refers to itself. Lets just say I have been involved with PNG and investing in PNG for multi decades To be clear I have the greatest respect for the PNG people especially the lower socio- economic classes and have a fair bit of disdain for those that have taken advantage over the decades and could tell you stories of wealth , bribery , theft , murder violence etc that you wouldn't believe.
PNG people are great and county is wonderful but it has major issues at just about every level of governance, health education and finance . There are so many aspects of PNG that can't be measured by Eastern or western Metrics or financial metrics as the people have a wonderful heart especially away from troubled city regions. Politics from tribe ,chief local regional and national is so many layers to achieve even the smallest thing with taxation base being international companies , resources tourism and banking
They do a lot with what ends up at the coalface but unfortunately not all $ gets where it can be used efficiently. You may see my words as derogatory as they are not politically correct in todays PC world but don't ever read it that way. Political influence in PNG from foreign countries I can see some as positive and lots as negative due top the payback some countries expect.
I am not here to rank other evolving countries and will call it as I see it even in my un-PC writings.
