If he had sent others to jail for similar offenses, and if he had escaped punishment for his offense, then it would have opened up a can of worms as I expect lawyers would ask for all those imprisoned to be released immediately. That's probably one reason why he was sent to prison. They didn't want to make the judiciary system more of a joke than it currently is. No matter, he's in jail now where he belongs.
