In short , if redflow batteries are stackable and can provide the output , they will have less components than the hornsdale big battery aka tesla battery in SA. Tesla has changed theyre manufacture but they were using 18650 cells ...thats 3.2v @ aprox 3amps of storage. You can find these things in everything from computers to power tools. I believe they now use a cell that is maybe 2/5 bigger...or soughta c battery sized
Im not even going to try to do the numbers , but Tesla is using hundreds of thousands , probably even millions of cells for an installation like that.....my guestimate is redflow would use 1% of the individual items used in a tesla install, and maybe 10% on say a CALB lifepo instal , but i havent sat down and do e the numbers
