Hey mate... I've always loved owls... I am a serious nature boy... years ago I read what the owl symbolized to many in the tattoo form... Just like most animal tattoos, the owl tattoo has a rich symbolic value. The owl is a symbol of wisdom, knowledge, and transition. ... For ancient Greeks, the owl was sacred to Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom. The owl was also symbolic to Native Americans who believed it was the guardian of sacred knowledge...

I have a few tattoos, however about 6 years ago I wanted a owl tattooed on my back and decided it was time..

my wife said do what you like... took me a while to find a tattooist that i had confidence in... I told him what I wanted, he printed out of the web a few various ideas, then free hand drawed on my back his own design... I agreed... said "do it man"... cost me $1000 and a total of 9 hours sitting. was a long day and painful... the last hour was literal torture ... I had it done at Coolum, had to drive home to Noosa, couldn't lean back in my seat... it was ouch... however I got what I wanted... an Owl holding a time watch set at midnight... I wanted this tatt for years... Im a night Owl, Im up till 1-2am most nights... when I got home and showed my wife she literally pissed herself laughing as she couldn't believe I went so hard... she thought I was getting a owl tatt the size of a A4 piece of paper... I have no regrets:
