You might wonder why I'm relentlessly negative on BNPL .

Because they are bubble stocks and this thread is evidence as to how financially devastating they are to many inexperienced investors.

Obviously I am older than the majority of posters on here and lived through the dot com bubble and witnessed lives destroyed families ruined, mass depression and unfortunately many suicides.

There is to much competition in a limited market for the weak to survive and Zip balance sheet is horrendous and while Tap and Zip and Quadpay pay anywhere might evidence growth in GMV or UMS each if those transactions will produce negative transaction margins and increase losses on an already fragile balance sheet.

They will continually have to return to market to raise funds and dilute the share price every time but there will come a point where the balance sheet is so bad no one will offer any funds.

Traditional lenders like WBC have deserted them and it looks like the NAB deal did not complete and they are reliant on hedge funds for finance who are notorious for shorting stocks in which they have convertible notes or warrants.

i note some posters advice to put the stocks in the bottom draw and check in a few years, but some stocks never come back and the certificates are worth nothing .

While the BNPL mantra is let's destroy evil credit cards Zip is slowly morphing into a credit card provider as they have found their business model is not working
