I don't mean to keep on about my wife dying, but here is something that may help others perhaps? I wasn't aware of this beforehand, if your partner needs to go into a nursing home, it is a costly exercise, you will have to pay what they call a DAP and it is no small sum let me tell you, I paid this money directly to the nursing home from my own pocket, but when my wife died, they sent a cheque to my wife's estate, they do that to cover their own ass, by them doing this it forced me into a probate situation, which most people would understanding is time consuming and at a time when money is needed perhaps? if you use a solicitor for probate that is not cheap either, I am doing the probate myself, it will save a considerable sum of money, but there is a trick you can use here beforehand, what you need to do is pay that DAP money into your partners super first or your own even, and then pay the nursing home from the super, if your partner dies that money has to go back to the super fund because it is considered a business, and that money is not placed under probate.

Don't choke on the cray you dirty filthy rotten mongrel Westie, just joshing LOL.
