If hypothetically, in the mediation, JK offers to pay for all court costs and then end the case, why wouldn’t Joe accept? Likewise if JK would accept a $30k offer in order the end the case. Typically there is no logical reason why a defendant would refuse an assisted mediation. A claimant, however, typically would do their best to avoid having to resort to assisted mediation.
