Very interestng and enlightening read.

Good points scattered throughout a fair share of xenophobic, misinformed nonsense.

What makes me laugh is how some Australian's (plenty on HC did) will be the first to SCREAM, "Bring back capital punishment"....when a father throws his daughter off a bridge....or when a similiar henious act occurs in my former home. Plenty also call for ALOT tougher enforcement of the law when hooligan after hooligan run riot each summer in either Sydney/Perth/name a city.

Just the other week someone was beaten to death in an Aussie airport yes?

Been living in this hugely populated country for a year now, travelled a little and have never, ever felt safer and more at ease walking the streets of any place at an time of the day.

To suggest that the Chinese Government needs or should learn more about the Western Ways of doing business, only beautifully shows one's absolute and utter ignorance of China, their government, their economy and it's dynamic and continuing evolution. And while they are still tightly rooted in their Communist history and values, the fact that the country and their people are still so heavily regulated at many levels, is the very reason why China has not and will not, fall so damningly far from grace as the Western Way will in present times.

China will not only be the only economy to weather this financial crisis, they also hold the key (and may or may not decide when or how quickly they shall use it) to allow the Western Way to emerge from this crisis at an earlier time.

Just my thoughts.
