Yes it would appear that tax reasons was not the reason for yesterdays announcement re options. If you reread my posts from yesterday you'll see I did raise the possibility that they might reissue more options.

I think the rest of that thread, in particular sscw42's posts about the bidding process is very relevant. Also when they say "certain employees", it could mean all the employees with options or only some of them. longer term employees would have had holdings of 50c, 60c and $1.50 options. Maybe the 60c ones weren't cancelled because holders of those didn't want to be part of the deal - who knows?
